Just a Drip!

All the treasures under the sky
are married in a drop of rain,
which conceals the sun in its window,
beds itself in the droughty earth,
miracles its nature in conception
and gives its mind to thoughts of life and birth.
If I had such a considerate soul
you would find me everywhere,
making this globe a drop of pure tomorrows.

Ranald Macdonald/Landar (1955-2014), Edinburgh, 2015.

Notes from the Compiler

The season of Creation encourages us to ask what God is saying when our eye catches one of God’s gifts, a drop or two of rain. My Scottish cousin saw it as a God-given provision that reminds us of our calling to bless the world!
